HisSong Garners 3 SGN Music Award Nominations!

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The staff of SoGospelNews.com announced their nominees for the 2010 SGN Music Awards last Thursday, and Southern Gospel trioHisSong was among those nominated in the popular awards program.

HisSong was honored to be nominated for three awards.  The group received their second consecutive nominations for Male Group of the Year andTraditional Southern Song of the Year (this year for “I Believe In Prayer”).  In addition, the trio landed their first ever nomination in the respected Album of the Year category for last fall’s Vine Records release Journey Through the Sky.

“We are so honored to be nominated for these awards,” mentioned Dennis Humphries of HisSong.  “The SGN Music Awards have quickly become one of the Southern Gospel’s most prized awards programs.  We appreciate them noticing our ministry. It means a lot to the group.”

The 2010 SGN Music Awards Celebration will take place on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at River of Life Church in Smyrna, Tennessee.  The event is free to the public.

HisSong released their sophomore recording for Vine Records/Crossroads Music this past September.  The new album, Journey Through the Sky, was produced by Dove Award-winning songwriter/producer Wayne Haun.

The album has already had a strong impact at Southern Gospel radio.  The debut single, “I Believe In Prayer,” is currently charting in the Top 10 on the Singing News Top 80 Chart and recently spent three weeks at #1 on the SoGospelNews.com Top 40 Weekly Chart.

HisSong is set to release their second Vine Records recording, Journey Through The Sky

HisSong is set to release their second Vine Records recording, Journey Through The Sky, in October 2009 by Crossroads Entertainment & Marketing Inc.  The brand new project is produced by award-winning producer Wayne Haun and includes a stellar line-up of songwriters (Bill Gaither, Lyn Rowell, Dee Gaskin and Dianne Wilkinson).  Journey Through The Sky’s first radio single, “I Believe In Prayer,” is currently playing on radio stations nationwide and recently landed in the top three on the Singing News’ New Release Chart.  “I Believe In Prayer” was written by Wayne Haun, Joel Lindsey and Depp Britt.

“I am thrilled about the release of HisSong’s new project.  Dennis, Adam and Adam have given their all to make sure this recording reflects their heart and talent.  I can’t wait for everyone to hear the songs and arrangements we have selected and recorded.  This album is sure to become a Southern Gospel classic that all fans of the music should have in their collection,” commented Wayne Haun.

Journey Through The Sky is the follow-up to HisSong’s 2009 Dove Award nominated release, On The Way Up, which contains numerous charting radio singles.  They have also been awarded multiple times for their hit single, “I Still Have It All.” The trio will make their debut stage appearance at the 2009 National Quartet Convention in September on Thursday night in Louisville, KY.
